Axe of the steam — It is time to test exactly how much magic thaumium can absorb. You have discovered a way of infusing a thaumium axe with the element of water

Advanced Uses

Although the Thaumomomicon states that it will work on natural trees, it also works on great wood but at a much slower rate. It will break all blocks connected to the block of wood that you hit, one at a time, from the top down. There is a limit on how far it can break blocks from, however.

Thaumonomicon Entry

Combining the element of water found within a wand of frost and a thaumium axe, you have created a tool that embodies the aspects of motion and flow.

It functions like a normal axe on all materials except natural logs and trees. When used the axe seeks to the furthest block of the same type that is still connected to the block you are attempting to harvest and harvests that one instead.

In effect you will chop trees from top down even if you hit the bottommost block.

In addition all blocks harvested in this manner will automatically flow towards you to be collected.

If you press and hold right click the axe will harvest at a much faster speed, but at a greater cost to its durability.

If shift is held while using this tool all its special properties are suspended and it functions like a normal axe.

Crafting

Axe of steam recipe — The crafting Recipe for Axe of steam

By taking a Wand of Frost and a Thaumium Axe, one can make the Axe of the stream. Simply place it upon thy Altar and charge it with the following:

8 Lignum,

16 Aqua,

8 Motus,

and 16 Instrumentum.

Infuse your wand with 100 vis, and the axe of stream shall be yours.

Once the tree has been fully "enchanted" all the wood that is connected to the one you are cutting will "Vanish" and appear next to you to be collected.
